“Lore” is Replacing “Senior”
An interesting perspective is gaining traction in AI developer circles: Calling yourself a "Senior Developer" actually makes you seem out of touch. True seniority means knowing how to direct AI to work.
A saying has been quietly circulating in overseas AI developer communities lately: "Lore" is replacing "Senior".
Previously, listing "Senior Developer" on a resume was a symbol of seniority. Now it's different—if you still insist on using this title, you're essentially telling others that you haven't adapted to the AI era.
True seniority has changed. It no longer means how deeply you master a certain technology, but how well you can "delegate"—assign tasks to AI, let multiple AI agents work in parallel, and at the same time supervise them to stay on track.
Put simply, the AI era doesn't require you to write code yourself; it requires you to "command" AI to write it for you. This sounds a bit harsh, but that's the reality.
Of course, this is just a saying. Some agree, others think it's a false concept. What do you think?
