Your Agent hands off an in-progress task halfway through to another Agent.

Cherry Studio has launched a new feature: mid-conversation, you can have your current Agent directly hand off a task to another Agent. For example, if you're in the middle of research and suddenly need a PPT-making Agent, or want to switch to a more specialized research Agent, you don't need to copy and paste chat history or re-explain your requirements and background. You just hand off the current task directly, and Cherry Studio will open a new conversation for the receiving Agent, with your previous request as its first task.

This feature solves a very specific pain point. In the past, Agent conversations were single-threaded: once a task went beyond the current Agent's capabilities, users had to act as the middleman themselves—copying context, opening a new window, re-describing the task. Now the entire handoff process is condensed to just one click.

Cherry Studio is an open-source multi-model AI client that supports connecting to mainstream models including Claude, GPT, Gemini and more, and also offers capabilities like knowledge bases, web search, and Agents. After this update, Agents have shifted from being "independent tools" to "colleagues that can assign work to each other".

As shown in the video demo, the handoff is not just a simple forwarding of messages. It brings the full conversation context and task objective to the new conversation to keep progressing the work, and every subsequent step retains a complete record.

In the past, multi-Agent workflows relied on users to manually arrange and coordinate. Now part of the scheduling work is handled by the system itself. This change is more meaningful than it might seem at first glance.
